The Company

About Aphelion, plainly.

Aphelion Appliance Repair is an independent company that repairs Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking and GE Monogram kitchen appliances in homes across the Phoenix metro. Refrigeration first, with the ranges and ovens beside it.

There is no showroom and nothing to sell you. A technician comes to the house, names the fault, and puts one fixed price against it in writing before any work begins. The work does not stop at the failed part: we trace why it failed and check the rest of the appliance before we leave. If a repair of ours does not hold, we come back. The rest of this page is who we are, what we open, what we leave alone, and the terms we work to.

What we open.

Refrigeration is the center of the work: built-in and integrated refrigerators, freezer columns and drawers, wine storage and ice makers from Sub-Zero, Viking and GE Monogram. Beside it, the cooking: ranges, rangetops, wall ovens and cooktops from Wolf, Viking and GE Monogram, gas, electric and dual-fuel.

Each maker has a page of its own: Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking and Monogram. So does each kind of machine: freezers, ice makers, wine storage, and ranges and ovens.

Four makers, and no more, is a choice. A built-in from one of these four is a different machine from a free-standing refrigerator, and the difference lives in the detail. Keeping to four is what lets us hold those details. Washers and dryers are repaired on the same $119 visit, with the same twelve-month warranty.

What We Leave Alone

A company is easier to judge by what it turns down. These are the jobs that are not ours, and whose they are.

Not oursWhose it is
An appliance still under the maker’s warrantyThe maker’s, first. A covered repair should cost you nothing, and we would rather tell you that than take the visit. Is the built-in still under warranty?
A recall repairThe maker’s. A recall remedy is arranged and paid for by the manufacturer. How to check a model against the recall list
Gas supply lines and new gas connectionsA licensed gas contractor’s. We repair the appliance itself. If you smell gas, leave the house and call Southwest Gas or 911
Dishwashers and garbage disposalsNot repaired
Selling you a new refrigeratorNobody’s here. We do not sell appliances, so when a machine is not worth repairing there is nothing for us to sell you instead. Repair the refrigerator, or replace it?
A price for a fault nobody has seenIt does not exist yet. The number comes after the diagnosis, in writing, and it is the number you pay

The Standard

$119

Diagnostic visit

At your home, with instruments. Waived entirely with any repair.

12months

Warranty

Parts and labor, with the parts we supply.

100%

Genuine parts

Every part we supply is genuine OEM: the only kind we put our warranty on.

Each additional appliance looked at on the same visit is $69, waived the same way. The repair itself is one fixed number, labor and genuine parts on separate lines, approved by you before anything is opened. What a repair costs.

In your home.

A message telling you how many minutes out we are. Shoe covers and floor protection before a single tool comes into the kitchen. A fixed estimate sent to you electronically, and no repair begun until you approve it. The failed part shown to you in person before we leave.

None of that is a promise made for this page. Each line is a published term, and the whole afternoon is written out in order: what the $119 diagnostic actually buys.

Where the numbers come from.

The guides on this site are written from the makers’ own manuals and support answers, from government sources, and from dated retail prices for parts. Each guide ends with its list of sources and the day they were checked.

A market price is named as a market price, with whose it is and when it was read. It is never presented as ours. Our own numbers are the few on this page, and they are the same on every page that mentions them.

Questions

Are you a factory-authorized service?

No. Aphelion is an independent repair company, not affiliated with Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking or GE Appliances, and we do not describe ourselves as authorized or factory-certified. If your appliance is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, contact the manufacturer first: a covered repair should cost you nothing.

Do you have a shop or a showroom?

No. Aphelion is a mobile service: a technician comes to your home. There is no walk-in location and no public street address, and nothing is taken away to a workshop.

Which appliances do you repair?

Built-in and integrated refrigerators, freezer columns and drawers, wine storage and ice makers from Sub-Zero, Viking and GE Monogram, and ranges, rangetops, wall ovens and cooktops from Wolf, Viking and GE Monogram. Washers and dryers are repaired on the same $119 visit. Dishwashers and garbage disposals are not.
