The visit
A technician at your home, with instruments rather than opinions. Waived in full the moment you go ahead with the repair — so a repair costs you nothing to diagnose.
Typical labor
The usual range for sealed-system or control work on a built-in of this class. Quoted as one fixed number and approved by you before anything is opened. Genuine parts are quoted separately.
Some jobs land under that range and a few above it. You will know which before we begin, not after.
Flat Rate, Not Hourly
Why we quote the repair, not the hour.
An hourly meter rewards the wrong thing. The better a technician knows these machines, the fewer hours the work takes — so billing by the hour would charge you the least exactly when we are at our best, and the most when we are guessing.
We would rather not build a price on that. The number is fixed before anything is opened, and you approve it. If the job runs to three hours instead of one, that is our problem, not your invoice.
It also removes the worst part of a repair: sitting in your own kitchen doing mental arithmetic while a stranger works slowly.

What you are actually paying for.
There are people who will work on your refrigerator by the hour. They will also work on your gate, your dishwasher and your garbage disposal. We work on four makers of the luxury kitchen, and very little else.
That is the entire difference. A fault we have met fifty times is an afternoon. The same fault, met for the first time, is a week of guessing — and on an hourly rate you would pay for every hour of that education.
You are not buying time. You are buying the hour being the right one: the correct diagnosis first, a fixed price you approve before anything is opened, and genuine parts rather than a generic board that happens to fit.
If you would rather supply a part yourself, we fit it for the labor alone. It carries no warranty, and the labor is not refunded if the part does not fit or fails — we cannot stand behind a part we did not choose.

A built-in is not a box you swap out — it is joined to the room around it, which is why replacing one is a remodel and repairing one is an afternoon. Set against the price of the machine it saves, the labor is a rounding error.
When we tell you not to.
Sometimes the repair does not make sense. The machine is too far gone, or the part it needs is no longer manufactured. When that is the case we say so plainly, you pay the $119 and nothing else, and we will tell you what we would buy instead. Repair or replace, in numbers.
We would rather lose the job than sell a repair that will not hold. A repair that fails in four months costs us the warranty visit and costs you your confidence — and only one of those grows back.
